About Me
I am an educator and I want my students to be happy
My name is Tina and I am currently a teacher candidate in Home Economics. I was born and
raised in Vancouver. After graduating high school I went on to study Food, Nutrition and Health at UBC.
During the second year of my degree, the opportunity to obtain a dual degree in Food, Nutrition and
Health and Education arose and I immediately applied. I saw the Education degree, specifically the
Home Ec faction a chance to combine my enthusiasm for nutrition with my hope to empower students.
Currently, I am completing the last year of my degree and am overwhelmingly excited about my short
and long practicum.
In my spare time when I’m not reading articles or completing assignments, I enjoy being
outdoors. I recently completed my first triathlon and am hoping to start training for a full marathon
soon. Additionally, I find pleasure in hiking and being amongst the wilderness. When the skies are clear
you can often find me staring up in space where I am counting stars and my blessings. Furthermore, I am
a fan of the horror genre. Although I often find myself awake at night due to fear, I still take pleasure in
experiencing horror through movies, stories and even houses. I wish to share my interests and uncover happiness in myself and in my students.
